One Company: A Total Commitment to Performance.
Excellence in manufacturing—and in everything we do—is our heritage. It’s our culture. It’s the bedrock of General Cable’s industry leadership and performance. We pursue manufacturing excellence through continuous, comprehensive and coordinated efforts in five critical areas: safety, quality, service, productivity and working capital management.
Our culture of continuous improvement centers on the commitment and contributions of highly engaged General Cable employees, who share responsibility for performance in an operator-led work environment. Across the globe, we share ideas, benchmark best practices and pursue manufacturing excellence as One Company. We’re using Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and process refinement to reduce scrap, energy use and raw material consumption while working continuously to enhance efficiency, throughput and quality.
Since 2001, 14 of General Cable’s 20 North American plants have been selected as finalists in INDUSTRYWEEK’s Best Plants competition. To date, 11 of those manufacturing facilities have gone on to achieve the title of one of the Top 10 Best Plants in North America, one of them twice.
